IT training in rural Kenya
Learning Lions is a non-profit organization that aims to train young adults in rural Africa in software development, graphic design, and media production, and help them build sustainable income prospects in the global digital economy – locally in their home region.
LEARNING LIONS, founded in 2015 as a nonprofit organization in Turkana County in northern Kenya, teaches students high-quality IT and media skills.
After completing their digital vocational training, the best graduates join DIGITAL LIONS, one of the world's first fair-trade certified IT agencies, as trainees. Working alongside more experienced colleagues, the Lions work for international clients and on larger projects, expanding the knowledge needed for a smooth start in the international outsourcing environment.cing landscape.
Finally, STARTUP LIONS, the third of the sequential units, offers coworking space and startup support for those who want to pursue a digital freelance career or build their own startup.
Training scholarship for IT talents
Futura Solutions is a training sponsor of the Learning Lions since the end of 2022. The "C# Apprenticeship Program" was launched together with Jan Veddeler, co-founder of the Learning Lions, and Thomas Möchel, Head of Development at Futura Solutions.
The C# Software Developer training program is initially designed to run for three years, including an intensive train-the-trainer phase and three to six participating Lions.
The training scholarship covers a large part of the participants' campus expenses such as rent, work space and food costs. The goal is to identify potential employees beyond the training and integrate them remotely into our software development team in the long term.

I have been actively supporting the Learning Lions for two years now. In the beginning, I supported the further development of the learning materials for the students - the motivation was to pass on my knowledge productively in this form. This slowly developed into something more. Why not use it to recruit young developers for Futura Solutions?
So then, in a close exchange of the Learning Lions project team, the idea matured to set up a new training program for the C# programming language. I am convinced that this is a promising path to a win-win situation for all sides.

Charity hike for the Lions
For the fifth time in total for the Lions - and for the first time for Futura Solutions. On September 2 and 3, 2023, we competed together in the Lion's March and hiked a total of 586 km together as a team. For every kilometer we walked, Futura Solutions donated an additional 1 euro.
In total, there were 1,000 participants who signed up for the entire route or just parts of it. The goal: 100 km Lion's March from Kaltenberg Castle to Hohenschwangau Castle in 24 hours.
