Away from manual data transfer: Stadtwerke Ingolstadt switches to FUTURA®.
Wiesbaden, August 2019. The end of maintenance of their interface solution between AVA-Tool and SAP ERP system gave Stadtwerke Ingolstadt the impetus to increase the efficiency of service purchasing. Instead of manual data exchange via import-export and double maintenance of service master files, FUTURA® now ensures greater transparency in their purchasing processes with an automatic integration into SAP.
By choosing FUTURA, Stadtwerke Ingolstadt are now relying on systemic support for the central purchasing processes, above all in the area of billing through the simple online integration of suppliers and service providers for the purpose of measurement entries.
“The decisive factor is that we now have an overview of the number of orders and, more importantly, an overview of the billing status in our projects at any time”, emphasizes Andreas Penzl, Head of Purchasing / Materials Management. Until now, this transparency was not possible despite the SAP connection to their AVA tool. Data exchange between the systems also required frequent checking and resulted in double maintenance of the service master files.
“We wanted a standard solution from the very beginning and took a look around FUTURA reference companies in our industry to find out how they are mapping their processes,” says Andreas Penzl. “The shaping of our target procurement processes then took place in close collaboration with all our departments – which is important for user acceptance”. FUTURA interlinks the SAP system with the original AVA processes and also integrates bidders and suppliers into the request and billing process in real time.
In 2018, more than 600 requests and more than 1000 purchase orders and service entries have been processed via FUTURA by around 50 users from different fields. Most of the contracts are being awarded to service providers and suppliers from the region: Stadtwerke Ingolstadt are investing 27 million euros in services and goods. Around 300 specialists are working for the four companies involved in the Stadtwerke.
