Stadtwerke Jena expands the use of FUTURA

Stadtwerke Jena has been using a FUTURA solution for its requests since 2014. Now the processing of services is also to be transferred consistently into an end-to-end digital and SAP-integrated process, replacing paper-based or manual activities. FUTURA® will be introduced at the grid company of the energy supplier. The core process, i.e., the planning and construction of networks and facilities, comprises an annual procurement volume of 25 million euros.

What led us back to Futura Solutions was the combination of standard solutions and industry knowledge. FUTURA was able to provide the most convincing answers to our very specific questions – about integration in SAP, topics related to planning, segmentation along lines of business, etc. – so that we decided to introduce it”.

In addition to the special functionalities directed towards energy and network operators, the added value of FUTURA lies in its seamless interaction with SAP. “Basically, we don’t just supply software, but a functioning system interconnected with SAP and SAP is setting the pace through its document and account assignment options”, emphasizes Managing Director Hartmut Schwadtke. “That’s why it’s very important to us that we accompany our clients with a systematic approach, workshops, guidelines and preliminary studies”.

As an infrastructure service provider, Stadtwerke Jena Netze covers a network area of 370 square kilometers with 144,000 inhabitants. Its tasks include the creation, modification and removal of network connections, operational management and maintenance of technical facilities, including cogeneration units and biomass plants.
