RWE prolongs partnership with Futura Solutions and will rely entirely on FUTURA Smart from 2026 onwards

RWE is continuing its successful collaboration with Futura Solutions and will be using FUTURA Smart as its sourcing solution from January 1, 2026. The energy corporation is thus expanding a partnership of 18 years and is integrating its source-to-contract (S2C) processes into SAP S/4HANA as part of its SAP transformation journey.

The key factor in the decision was the full native integration of FUTURA Smart into SAP S/4HANA. FUTURA Smart is the world's first solution to fully map the new SAP data model “Lean Services with Item Hierarchies” in a GAEB-compatible manner, enabling the seamless processing of complex, multi-level item lists directly in SAP S/4HANA.

In addition to its technological future-proofing, the system impressed with its high usability and comprehensive coverage of all relevant sourcing processes. FUTURA Smart thus enables RWE to achieve greater transparency, audit-proof processing, and a significant reduction in manual effort in purchasing.
