Expansion of the FUTURA^® solution portfolio and new website presence

The Wiesbaden-based software developer Futura Solutions is expanding the solution portfolio of its established procurement platform FUTURA^® by introducing FUTURA Smart Sourcing. In addition to construction work and services, the seamless, digitally interconnected business processes of SAP purchasing teams and suppliers worldwide are now available for all material groups via FUTURA^®.   

As a cloud-based purchasing and procurement solution, FUTURA starts where SAP S/4HANA leaves off: the processes that require collaboration with suppliers and service providers, e.g. in sourcing. While the focus has so far been on the digital transformation of purchasing processes for construction and services (complex services), the modular procurement platform is now undergoing a decisive expansion: With the new FUTURA Smart solution module, it is now also possible to procure materials and lean services (in the future also with the so-called "item hierarchies"). Futura Solutions thus offers a broad product portfolio for all commodity groups, including the special discipline for construction projects, maintenance and plant engineering.

E-sourcing solution for SAP as Digital Core

"FUTURA will be interesting for all SAP customers who are looking for a general procurement solution to continue the processes of S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement – without having to set up a huge project and establish an expensive suite and ultimately a shadow solution alongside SAP," explains Managing Director Hartmut Schwadtke. "We have always used a completely different approach: best-of-breed instead of all-in-one.

The focus is on the consistent pursuit of SAP's Digital Core strategy. The new feature is the SAP back-end integration with the front-end integration implemented via its own app framework. Operational and strategic SAP purchasing teams can access a wide range of functions via single sign-on from their SAP Launchpad and thus work fully integrated with SAP.

In the course of over 25 years of company history, we have already supported several SAP generations with our solutions. From R/3 to ECC 6.0 and now SAP S/4HANA. From a technological point of view, these integration types are worlds apart. With FUTURA Smart, we are also taking a big step forward in this respect and can offer completely new perspectives for SAP-based procurement," says Hartmut Schwadtke.

FUTURA SRM becomes FUTURA Engineering

The new strategic orientation of Futura Solutions is accompanied by a completely revised website. "FUTURA SRM", the established special solution for technically demanding procurement projects, is now called FUTURA Engineering. This solution module maps the special procurement and processing of services, which corresponds with the SAP module MM-SRV, with item category "D". This integration was certified by SAP in 2020 and undergoes annual recertification by SAP as well.
